Lichtenstein artwork visits London
One of pop artist Roy Lichtenstein's early and iconic paintings, Sleeping Girl is currently on a world tour and has arrived at Sotherby's in London, ahead of its sale day in New York next month. The painting is an early example of the cartoon-style representation of women that Lichtenstein showed in his work - a style that was expanded after he met Erica in the 90s. During their relationship, he began a series of nude paintings in which the girls bear a resemblance to Erica.
Erica has a polaroid of one of Lichtenstein's first nudes. This features in her exclusive Lichtenstein gallery on this site.
It was the sale of Lichtenstein works that helped fund Erica's debut album.
